Abstract
[The Republic of the media] The paper examines the constitutional events that led to the writing of Art. 21 of the Constitution. It addresses the main problematic issues of freedom of information, referring to the judgments of the Constitutional Court. It then examined a specific area for the media, ie radio and television. It analyzes the evolution of television from public monopoly to the mixed system by paying attention to the relationship with the political system. With emphasis on key legislative reforms that took place in the 70s and 80s you draw a critical profile of the attitude of the institutions towards the broadcasting phenomenon. The conclusion is reserved to some questions concerning the future of the media in relation to the democratic form of state.
