Abstract
The essay deals with the ‘etc.’ (et cetera) which can be read at the end of Int. CTh. 2.18.1 in the Haenel edition of the Lex Romana Visigothorum. It is the only case in which this formula occurs in the Interpretationes of the Breviarium. In theory it could play a relevant role in the debeated problem of the authorship of these interpretationes: whether they are the work of the Visigothic compilers or are taken from earlier texts, as that ‘etc.’ would suggest. But, even in the light of the more reliable Mommsen edition of the Theodosian Code, the author believes that, although suggestive, this formula cannot be a convincing argument.
