CODE OF ETHICS

The journal Cultura giuridica e diritto vivente (hereinafter referred to as Journal) promotes the dissemination and development of legal science, both in its historical dimension as a heritage of European and non-European legal culture and in its ongoing growth through the practices of the courts and hermeneutic activities. This broad project allows the Journal to engage in international discourse, promoting free research activity and maximum circulation, ensured by the agile open-access platform. The principles outlined below are inspired by the standards set by COPE in the Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.

Per ANVUR guidelines, the Journal is equipped with a DOI code for identifying the articles it contains. It is characterized by the publication of one volume per year, marked by a progressive number.

The Journal collaborates with a diverse board of scholars, nationally and internationally, in line with its international and open-minded vocation, without discriminatory practices based on gender, race, political or religious orientation, or scientific content.

The Journal promotes the intellectual growth of young scholars and encourages dialogue between them and their respective scientific communities of reference.

Following the provisions established by ANVUR, the Journal publishes articles after a review process (double-blind peer review) for the Essays section and the Notes and Comments section, using scholars publicly identified by the Editorial Board as Referees. However, if deemed necessary, it reserves the right to engage additional scholars, including at an international level, based on their specific expertise. No external referee is required for the Materials section, as a simple assessment of “publishability” by the Editorial Board is considered sufficient, given the material involved.

The Editorial Board and the Journal’s governing bodies are required to maintain confidentiality. They are expressly prohibited from using the content of articles submitted for publication for any purpose.

Similar duties are imposed on Referees, who must also adhere to the deadlines set by the Journal’s needs. In the event of a conflict of interest, the referee must report it to the Editorial Board and abstain from the evaluation.
