Taking the student enrolled in a legal studies course as the elective recipient, the paper intends to recall and illustrate some of the main reasons for the fundamental role that the study of (private) Roman law, in its primary meaning of jurisprudential law, plays (still today) in the formation and intellectual growth of the authentic modern jurist of the authentic modern jurist
