Abstract
In the crowded field of Latin epistolography we can still recognize the originally private nature of the juridical responsa (to us in excerpta) of the Flavian-Trajan age, with special regard to the libri of Proculus. They are close to the praecepta as opposed to the decreta in Sen. epist. 94 and 95.
