Abstract
The presentation illustrates the reform of the prison system in the Republic of San Marino, which promotes a model of detention based on rehabilitation, social reintegration and human dignity. The reform provides for personalised treatment, alternatives to detention and specific work, education and training programmes. At the same time, it highlights the structural modernisation of the Cappuccini prison, aimed at ensuring that prisoners are held in dignified conditions that comply with European standards.
