Aims and Scope
Argomenti. Rivista di economia, cultura e ricerca sociale (eISSN 1971-8357) is an open-access, double-blind peer-reviewed electronic journal published by the University of Urbino in collaboration with CNA Marche.
Founded in Ancona in 1978, it is edited by Ilario Favaretto, professor at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Urbino.
In 2001, after a pause, it resumed as a triannual series with Franco Angeli, who introduced the online version. Since 2015, it has been published by Urbino University Press (UUP), while 2001–2014 digital archives remain available on the Franco Angeli website. Starting from 2025, the journal's frequency has become annual.
The publication welcomes research contributions and discussions regarding economics, social sciences and culture.
It connects the analysis of regional economic evolution, local development issues and policy strategies with the broader dynamics of the national and international economy. Over time, it has expanded its scope and enhanced its content and today it focuses on publishing research that seamlessly integrates local socio-economic themes with global perspectives.
Topics of interest include macroeconomics and public finance, SME and enterprise economics, regional economic development (with particular attention to the Marche), the social dimensions of wellbeing, education, and public policy.

Peer review process
Articles published in Argomenti are subject to a rigorous double-blind peer-review process. Reviewers are selected by the editor of the journal among experts within or outside the scientific committee.
Editors send to the selected reviewers title and abstract of the manuscript to be reviewed and invite them to log-in on the journal website with their credentials. Only after accepting to carry out the review, the reviewer is allowed to get access to the manuscript. The average time required to complete the review is two weeks.
Reviewers have three options:
- Accept the proposal
- Accept the proposal, with minor revisions
- Reject the proposal
The match between corrections suggested by reviewers and those made by the author(s) is evaulated by the editor and the editorial board.
Open Access Policy
The journal offers open access to all articles, as the editorial board believes this policy is essential for the exchange and diffusion of knowledge at the global level.
Argomenti does not charge authors any fee at any stage: submission, peer review and publication are all entirely free of charge.
