Abstract
Family-owned and controlled businesses are the oldest and most widespread form of enterprise in Italy and around the world, where they play a major role as generators of job opportunities, wealth creators and promoters of innovation. Given the historical moment we are living through and the challenges facing society and economic systems, this paper proposes some notes and analyse some empirical data regarding the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the performance of family businesses and the actions taken to respond to the economic crisis that followed.
