Abstract
Drawing upon recent case law from lower courts, the essay examines the intersections between the distinct legal relationships underpinning workplace accident and occupational disease protection. Specifically, it highlights the potential conflicts - both de jure and de facto - that may arise, alongside the attendant difficulties in systematically regulating the obligations linking the employee, the employer, and the National Institute for Insurance against Accidents at Work (INAIL).
