THE HOMOGENEOUS BALANCE METHOD AND ITS APPLICATIONS FOR FINDING THE EXACT SOLUTIONS FOR NONLINEAR EVOLUTION EQUATIONS

In this article, we apply the homogeneous balance method to find the exact solutions of some nonlinear evolution equations in mathematical physics, namely, the Kaup-Kupershmidt equation, the Ito equation, the Caudrey-Dodd-Gibbon equation, the Lax equation and the Sawada-Kotera equation. These equations have wide applications in quantum mechanics and non linear optics. The e±ciency of this method for constructing these exact solutions is demonstrated.
