Abstract

The essay explores the development of the EU regulatory system with respect to the impact of automated systems on workers’ health and safety. Highlighting the persistent relevance of the cornerstones of the existing occupational health and safety framework – in particular the need for constant adaptation of protective measures and the all-encompassing scope of risk assessment - the investigation deepens the reasoning in the light of three recent legislative interventions: the Platform Work Directive, the AI Act and the new Machinery Regulation.
