Abstract
In this article, I explore the connection between the concept of the “democratic philosopher” and the notion of cultural exploitation in Gramsci’s work. To do so, I draw on the shortcomings and contributions to the reception of his philosophy as demonstrated by Manuel Sacristán, an important scholar of the Sardinian thinker. Gramsci’s approach to philosophy offers a radically viable model for the production of philosophical knowledge that challenges academic certainties.
